Danilo Miranda Cares is a cinematographer with international experience across India, Canada, Chile, and Europe. A graduate of the KinoEyes EMJMD in Cinematography, he has built a diverse portfolio in both fiction and documentary filmmaking. Currently based in Lisbon, Portugal, he works as a professor of cinematography and camera operation at Universidade Lusófona, while actively engaging in professional film projects.

David Novack is a filmmaker, sound engineer, and researcher with a Ph.D. in Media Arts. He teaches sound and cinema at Lusófona University and specializes in sound studies, phenomenology, and neurocinematics. His award-winning documentaries include Finding Babel, Burning The Future, and Kimjongilia.

Érica Faleiro Rodrigues is a filmmaker, curator, and lecturer specializing in film history. She holds a BA in Film and Video from the University of the Arts London, an MA from Goldsmiths, and is a PhD candidate at Birkbeck, University of London. Her work includes award-winning documentaries and curating films at the Barbican Arts Centre in London.

Jacinto Godinho is an Associate Professor at Universidade Lusófona specializing in applied communication and new technologies. He is also a journalist at RTP, directing documentaries on Portuguese history and audiovisual archives. Godinho holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

Margarida Cardoso is an independent filmmaker with over 20 years of international experience and a documentary instructor at Lusófona University and DocNomads. Her films, including Banzo, Natal 71 and Kuxa Kanema, focus on colonial and post-colonial Portuguese Africa and have been awarded at major festivals like Rotterdam, Venice, and Locarno.

Margaryta Kulichova is a Ukrainian composer and sound designer, with a background in music production and sound design for documentaries. She graduated from the KinoEyes EMJMD program in 2020 and is pursuing a PhD in the Arts at Universidade Lusófona. Kulichova has worked on award-winning documentaries and collaborates with the DocNomads program in Lisbon.

María Goya Barquet is an Ecuadorian cinematographer and artist, trained in Cuba and through the DocNomads program. Her recent project Calls from Moscow premiered at Berlinale 2023 and MoMA. She has been an instructor at DocNomads-Lisbon since 2022.

Miguel Cardoso has been a lecturer at CIEE and FCSH – UNL and teaches in the DocNomads program since 2013. He is completing a PhD in English Studies at Birkbeck College and holds degrees in Modern Languages, English Studies, and Modern Literatures. Cardoso is also a translator, poet, and publisher.

Pedro Caetano studied Cinema in Universidade Lusófona, and since 2013 he handles the course secretariat of DocNomads-Lisbon within the Cooperation Projects Office, which among other international projects coordinates two more Erasmus Mundus Masters (Kino Eyes, RE:Anima), within the M&ACKT - Media and Arts Centre for Knowledge Transfer. He also handles the content management of social media platforms in the Film and Media Arts Department of Lusófona University.

Pedro Marques is an independent Portuguese filmmaker and editor, with experience working on films by directors like Pedro Costa and Miguel Gomes. He has been teaching at DocNomads-Lisbon since 2013. He holds a Master’s in Communication Sciences and is a PhD in the Arts candidate. His documentary films have received international recognition and awards.

Sandra Rocha

Lisbon, Lusofóna University

Member of the Academic Board and Coordinator of international projects at Lusofóna University.

Sandra Rocha leads M&ACKT  - Media and Arts Centre for Knowledge Transfer at Lusófona University, overseeing CICANT and managing international academic calls. With 19 years of experience, she coordinates Erasmus Mundus joint Master's degrees and FilmEU Alliance projects. Rocha has managed various academic-industry cooperation initiatives, including those under Media Programme Training, H2020, and Erasmus+.

Tarun Madupu is a sound designer, filmmaker, and film researcher originally from India. A graduate from KinoEyes - The European Film Masters, he specializes in sound design for narrative work, contributing sound and music to film and media projects. He teaches sound for documentary filmmaking, sharing his expertise with aspiring filmmakers. In his role as an arts-based researcher, he is affiliated with the media research units CICANT and FilmEU. 

Tiago Hespanha is a documentary filmmaker and producer, serving as a senior expert and tutor in the DocNomads program since 2012. He holds a Master's in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University and has worked with international programs like Arché Residencies. His films have been showcased at global festivals.

Vanessa Ribeiro-Rodrigues is a documentarian, journalist, researcher, and media literacy educator. With a PhD in Communication for Development, she works at the intersection of documentary and journalism, focusing on human rights and social justice. Her award-winning work spans film, literature, and international reporting, with projects in Brazil, Mozambique, the Middle East, and Europe. 

Victor Candeias

Lisbon, Lusofóna University

Victor Candeias, a founding member of DocNomads, has served as course director in Lisbon and contributed to the program’s curriculum since 2011. He is a film director and senior lecturer at Universidade Lusófona, teaching documentary and fiction. With a Master's in Film Studies, he is pursuing a PhD at the University of Leuven, and his films have been showcased at festivals worldwide.
